Spiralling Edgbaston hospitality sales point to Indian summer

Keith Prowse, the UK 's leading hospitality provider, has announced record sales figures for corporate hospitality in the run-up to the 3rd npower Test match between England and India at Edgbaston.

More packages for the Friday of the match - taking place from Wednesday 10th to Sunday 14th August - have been sold than for the 3rd day of any fixture in the history of the ground.

Keith Prowse has pointed to the clamour for places within Edgbaston's new £32 million Pavilion Stand as a major reason for heightened demand around the fixture, which will see England continue their quest to be the world's number one Test side.  This is coupled with the success of the England team in the winter's Ashes series which has galvanised a wider interest in the sport.

Keith Prowse's Edgbaston sales team has also highlighted the magnetism of opponents India to bookers from Birmingham 's multicultural business community. Fresh from their 2011 ICC World Cup triumph, the touring side will include number one Test batsman Sachin Tendulkar, a national idol who is likely to be playing for the last time on English soil.

Popular entertaining options taken up by firms from the Midlands and further afield include the new Jaguar Club and Superboxes, which will pamper guests with a champagne reception, four-course lunch and expert analysis from cricket celebrity guest speakers throughout the day.

The Pavilion Stand, nearing readiness for its grand opening on Friday 15th July, signals Edgbaston's intention to position itself as an entertaining hub for the Midlands . The new development will offer companies the chance to wow their clients with unparalleled vistas over the ground, which boasts a greater percentage of England Test victories than any other home venue.

Keith Prowse recently showcased its Edgbaston range at the Experience Edgbaston event on Tuesday 10th May. Local businesses and selected media were treated to bowl food inspired by this year's hospitality menus and a question and answer session with England Ashes heroes Jonathan Trott and Ashley Giles.

Ted Walker, Head of Marketing for Keith Prowse said: "We are very pleased with the response from Midlands businesses to the new range of entertaining options now on offer at Edgbaston. We aim to demonstrate to local businesses the benefits of face-to-face time in an environment which offers the exhilaration of world class sport and hospitality."
