Local law firm Lanyon Bowdler are celebrating 10 years of being
based at their offices in Chapter House North, Abbey Lawn Business
Park, Shrewsbury, since they relocated from Swan Hill in the centre
of the town, in May 2001.
One of the most recognised firms in Shropshire, Lanyon Bowdler
was the first law firm in Shrewsbury to invest in modern purpose
built offices with parking, and they took the bold step of creating
a large new open plan working environment for, not only staff, but
also partners. The Abbey Lawn development offered all the benefits
of being outside the centre of Shrewsbury, whilst remaining within
walking distance of the shops and amenities. Staff and
clients alike welcomed the new approach and it was a significant
milestone, forming a blueprint for the future, which others have
followed.
The new office environment and layout was a success, and as a
result, more space was required by the firm. In September 2003, the
office space was doubled with the acquisition of Chapter House
South. The offices on Abbey Lawn now house over 80 partners and
staff.
The firm, which also has offices in Ludlow, Telford and
Wellington, has continued its expansion with two offices in
Oswestry, following the merger in May 2010 with LG Solicitors, and
the recent acquisition of Lewis & Co in Hereford in December
2010.
