Nottingham-based Pharmacy group, Pharmplex Limited, has secured
the future of its Worsley Pharmacy branch in Chilwell, following a
refinancing deal with Santander Corporate Banking.
Worsley Pharmacy is the only one in the village and as such is
part of the Government's Essential Small Pharmacy Scheme. The
finance deal has enabled Pharmplex, which owns three pharmacies, to
purchase the freehold for the site, as well as enabling the company
to free-up additional working capital. The company has also moved
its full banking services to Santander.
Makinder Suri, Pharmplex Director, said: "It was a
fantastic opportunity to be offered the freehold for our Chilwell
pharmacy. This will secure our long term future in the village and
ensure that we will be able to continue to provide this vital
service in the area. Santander really took the time to get to know
my business and showed a real understanding of the sector and local
area. Switching my banking to Santander was easy and
efficient."
Mark Lawson, Relationship Director at Santander Corporate
Banking's East Midland's centre, said: "I am delighted we have been
able to support Pharmplex. Mrs Suri's strong management and passion
for her business makes a good match for Santander Corporate
Banking, where we pride ourselves on really getting to know
individual businesses and their sectors so we are able to provide
the right solutions for their needs. I look forward to working with
Pharmplex in the future."
Mrs Suri bought her first pharmacy, Grewal Pharmacy in Beeston,
in 1987 and rapidly invested in and grew the businesses. She bought
Worlsey Pharmacy in 1994 and also owns a further site at the
Medical Centre in West Point, Toton.
