One of the regions longest serving chartered surveyors has retired following more than fifty years as a general practice surveyor.

Dick Hassett of Fisher German has retired following a rich and varied career, the majority of which was served in the North Nottinghamshire and Worksop areas.

The past 5 decades have seen him involved with a wide variety of work, including beginning his career polishing silver at a Sheffield auctioneers, through to valuing property for the National Coal Board (NCB) following the closure of the regions collieries.

Dick was based at Fisher German's office on Exchange Street in Retford where for the past 6 years has been involved with an interesting mix of professional and valuation work as well as property agency advice.

Kevin Benson, Partner at Fisher German, comments "Dick has been a real asset to the firm and over his career has dedicated a great deal of time and effort, not just to his work, but to the entire area.

"It is a shame to see Dick retire, however we have developed an excellent team at Fisher German who will be able to take over and continue the superb work that he has started. We as a firm would like to wish him all the best for the future and a very happy retirement".
