The UK's leading regeneration specialist, St. Modwen is to hold
a public consultation event for a proposed development to the south
of Branston village, Burton-on-Trent.
Bounded by the A38 and the River Trent, St. Modwen is proposing
the creation of new employment space and homes with associated open
space on the 240 acre site.
St. Modwen's draft proposals include the creation of up to 650
new homes in a variety of sizes, plus the development of new
employment space, including industrial and storage/distribution
units. The developer is also keen to retain large areas of open
space for recreational use, while enhancing and extending the
existing public footpaths and links to the Trent Valley Way.
Local residents and interested parties are invited to attend the
public consultation on Wednesday 15 June from 3-8pm at the Branston
Scouts Headquarters, Main Street, Branston, Burton-on-Trent, DE14
3EY. Representatives from St. Modwen will be in attendance
alongside the masterplanners, ecologists and engineers currently
working on proposals for the site. All will be on hand to
answer questions and receive comments and feedback on draft
proposals which will be displayed.
Ian Romano, senior development surveyor, commented: "We are
working closely with East Staffordshire Borough Council as we work
towards drawing up a comprehensive masterplan for this important
site. Consulting with the public is a vital part of this
pre-planning process and we therefore hope that local residents
will take this opportunity to attend the consultation and share
their views on our outline proposals. With their input we can
strive towards delivering a scheme that will be of benefit to both
the local community and wider regional economy."
