The Human Resources division of Nottingham based PBS UK Ltd, has
reported that it is logging a steady rise in the need for online
business support. Its website features a specialist HR document
shop where up-to-date policies and guidelines can be
downloaded.
500 documents were downloaded in the first four months of the
year - an increase of 33% for the same period last year.
Pam Pindar is Managing Director of PBS UK Ltd.:"The impact of
the diminished and disappearing human resources department within
companies is really now apparent. This is becoming a real
problem for businesses/employers as other advice centres such as
Business Link are no more. Employers are turning to other resources
for specialist advice and support - a trusted online route is
clearly a popular choice. Topical issues and seasonal elements are
also having a far greater influence than we have seen before. It's
not surprising that the redundancy guidelines and checklists have
been popular but the Adverse Weather Policy and the Contingency
Plan for Highly Infectious Diseases actually topped our download
charts when the cold snap and flu season arrived again.
"Many companies are intimidated by the constantly changing UK
Employment Law, and struggle to stay up to date with changes and
developments in this area. The consequences for non-compliance can
potentially be financially crippling to any business. It is no
surprise that many companies are looking to ensure that they have
the latest information to hand - down to the last detail and
covering every single eventuality."
The PBS website has a specialist HR Document Shop offering 40
policy documents and factsheets to download. A selection is offered
for free and others range in price from £4.95 to
£49.95.
