BTG Global Risk Partners, part of the Begbies Traynor Group
continues to experience growing demand for its forensic accounting
services. To meet this increased demand, Andrew Donaldson has been
appointed as Forensic Accounting Director based in the Birmingham
office.
John Kelly, Regional Managing Partner at Begbies Traynor in
Birmingham, said: "We introduced forensic accounting as part of our
local service offering 18 months ago as a natural extension of our
corporate recovery operations. Our clients and intermediary
contacts increasingly look to us to provide expert witness and
litigation specialist support.
"The uncertain economic climate also continues to see companies
vulnerable to the threat of fraud. We are, therefore, especially
pleased to have secured Andrew who has significant forensic
accounting experience in both criminal and civil cases.
Mr Donaldson joins BTG Global Risk Partners from a leading
accountancy firm where he specialised in forensic accounting
services. He commenced his career with KPMG, in 1985, where he
remained for 12 years, the last five of which were as part of the
forensic accounting team. He then switched roles to become finance
director of a business specialising in mortgage fraud
investigations before joining an engineering group in a similar
capacity.
Andrew Donaldson commented: "BTG Global Risk Partners has an
impressive and growing reputation and I am very pleased to be part
of it. The role is a major opportunity and my experience in the
forensic accounting sector will allow me to make a significant
contribution.
"Begbies Traynor Group is a specialist professional services
consultancy with no audit practice, and there are many ways for us
to add value to existing client relationships, while minimising the
risks of independence conflicts.
"The Group has a large geographical spread which will allow me
to tap into genuine in-depth local knowledge and maximise the
benefits from effective working relationships with local
businesses, banks and lawyers."
Martin Long, head of BTG Global Risk Partners in Birmingham,
said: "Andrew will prove to be a major asset to BTG Global Risk
Partners. Forensic accounting is a very important and growing part
of our business. Andrew's task is to help drive forward this side
of the practice."
