A Midlands law firm is teaming up with a national recruitment
agency to provide employers with vital information about upcoming
changes to agency workers' rights.
Leamington Spa solicitors Wright Hassall are hosting two lunch
time seminars, alongside Katie Bard, part of the international
Angela Mortimer Group, to cover the implications of the Agency
Worker Regulations that will come into force in October 2011.
The regulations give UK agency workers the same basic rights and
benefits as those employed directly, given that they have been in
the same role, under the same hirer, for 12 weeks.
There is a choice between two seminars in different locations,
the first at Wright Hassall's Leamington Spa offices on Tuesday,
June 14 and the second at Malmaison Hotel in Birmingham's Mailbox
on Friday, June 17.
The seminars will address the practical implementation of this
new legislation and advise employers on how best to prepare their
business.
Sarah Stratton is the head of HR consultancy at Wright Hassall
and will present the seminar alongside Toni Sharp, a solicitor from
the firm's employment law team.
And Sarah believes there is a wide range of people who would
benefit from attending this seminar.
She said: "It is not long now until these new regulations come
into force and it is important that everyone knows what this will
mean to them.
"These seminars will be of particular importance to those within
the HR profession as well as managers and directors of businesses
which use agency staff.
"There will also be time for networking over a light lunch
before the main presentations, which are followed by a Q and A
session.
"It is great that we have been able to combine our knowledge
with that of such a reputable recruitment agency as Katie Bard as
this allows us to provide in-depth analysis of what the changes
will mean, from both points of view.
"I think this will also stimulate constructive debate and add to
the value of the event for those in attendance."
