West Midlands-based businesses B.E. Wedge and Spectator Seating
have teamed up to work on an exciting renovation project at one of
Scotland's most famous football stadiums.
B.E. Wedge - part of Wedge Group Galvanizing - provided its
specialist spin galvanizing service to approximately 5,000 steel
components used as part of the construction of the new East Stand
at Hibernian FC's Easter Road venue. Wolverhampton-based stadia
specialists Spectator Seating produced and used the components to
create parts for the new seats installed at the historic Edinburgh
ground.
Lee Dickens, Commercial Manager for Willenhall-based B.E. Wedge,
said: "Spectator Seating has a proven track-record of working on
sports stadia redevelopments. We were understandably pleased to
help out with their latest project at Easter Road, and they did a
fantastic on the new stand."
The 6,400-seat capacity East Stand at Easter Road was officially
opened - ahead of schedule - in time for Hibernian FC's big
Scottish Premier League match against Glasgow Rangers at the start
of the 2010-11 season back in August.
Wedge Group Galvanizing is the largest hot dip galvanizing
organisation in the UK with a history dating back over 150 years.
With 14 plants strategically placed across the country, they offer
a truly national galvanizing service.
