A Lincolnshire event later this month will mix business and
pleasure, with a combination of the Institute of Directors'(IoD)
Annual Golf Day and a visit to the Ping Factory, world-renowned for
its manufacture of golfing equipment.
The events, on Wednesday 29 June, will centre on Gainsborough
Golf Club, Thornock Park Course and the Ping Factory, which is
close by.
The IoD Lincolnshire's Annual Golf Day has become a regular date
in the county's sporting calendar since its inception in 1958. This
year it is being opened out to be an East Midlands wide event.
Annette Wood, IoD Lincolnshire Chairman said:" This year we are
mixing business with pleasure, with events for golfers and
non-golfers. There is an opportunity to network, be competitive and
to learn about a successful specialised business."
David Chambers, Chairman of the Lindum Group, will be defending
his title at the Golf Day, competing for the Carl Ross Trophy which
he won last year. This trophy was donated by a former branch
chairman (Carl Ross, founder of Ross Frozen foods) in 1958 and it
has been played for each subsequent year. It can only be won
by an IOD member. There are other prizes to play for both IoD
Members and non-members.
As part of the visit to the Ping Factory there will be an
opportunity to experience the game of golf. Professionals will be
on hand to demonstrate and instruct.
The whole or half day experience, including a number of options,
can be booked via www.iod.com/eastmidlands/events.
