Local solicitor, Andrew Cochrane of Flint Bishop LLP, has been appointed as Under Sheriff of Derbyshire, replacing Richard Bullock MA DL. 

As an equity partner and head of Licensing at leading regional law firm Flint Bishop LLP, Andrew is well placed to take on the promotion of law and justice in Derbyshire.

During his 22 year legal experience, Andrew has earned the status of 'Leader in Field' and the Legal 500 has written that 'he is praised by peers at the highest level', demonstrating the legal credentials Andrew will bring to his new position. 

In addition to his day job, Andrew takes on the role of Under Sheriff, having recently given up the position as President of the Derby Law Society.

Commenting on his appointment as Under Sheriff, Andrew said:

"As you can imagine, I am absolutely delighted to have been appointed Under Sheriff of Derbyshire. I am looking forward to representing Derbyshire in this ancient and historic role.

"The core role of High Sheriff and Under Sheriff is to work together to promote Law and Justice and I look forward to working alongside the current High Sheriff of Derbyshire, David Coke-Steel in achieving this."

As Under Sheriff, Andrew will provide assistance to the, also newly appointed High Sheriff, Mr David Coke-Steel. 

Andrew will join the other 55 Under Sheriffs serving England and Wales today.
