One of only three front line bankers in the country to have
passed a top legal qualification has been appointed to cover the
East Midlands for Yorkshire Bank.
Susan Carter, who will be based at Yorkshire Bank's Financial
Solutions Centres (FSC) in Nottingham, Leicester and Derby, spent
two-and-a-half years completing a Masters of Business Adminstration
(MBA) in Legal Practice Management at Nottingham Law School.
The 45-year-old has been appointed Head of Professionals for the
East Midlands and is relishing her new position.
"I have over ten years' experience of working with the
Professional Sector in this region which includes completing the
MBA course in Legal Practice Management," Sue said.
"The MBA included writing a 25,000 word dissertation that I
combined with full-time working which demonstrates my dedication to
the profession.
"There are some pretty fundamental changes taking place which
are going to affect the legal landscape for generations when the
Legal Services Act comes into force.
"Having this qualification gives me the confidence to tackle
these issues and to guide firms through these challenging times. I
consider myself to be in a privileged position of being an outsider
looking into the legal profession and together with my financial
experience it gives me credibility when providing advice on
topical issues such as coping strategies, expansion, mergers and
acquisitions."
Susan, who lives with her husband, Stephen, and their
12-year-old daughter, Olivia, near Newark, will be looking after
Yorkshire Bank customers in Nottingham, Leicester and Derby.
"My role involves looking after professional practices and
bringing in new professional practices to our client base as well
as networking," she said.
"The team here in the East Midlands are highly professional as
well as being friendly and knowledgeable and I am looking forward
to getting to know more of our customers and introducing new
clients to our services."
