to John Farncombe
John Farncombe has worked for a major engineering company,
Dowding and Mills - now Sulzer Dowding and Mills, manufacturers and
re-winders of electrical coils - for 49 years 11 months and 2
weeks.
For 43 of those years he has been the point of contact for
another Birmingham business, employee benefits provider BHSF.
As a delegate, John has acted as the liaison between his work
colleagues and BHSF, making sure all the administrative procedures
run smoothly.
John has been a member of BHSF since the age of 16 years of age
himself. He said: "I remember when the cash plan was just
sixpence a week. I've always enjoyed working with BHSF and always
found the company helpful and efficient".
With John's retirement in July BHSF has recognised his long-term
commitment to its health cash plan product by presenting him with a
commemorative glass goblet.
David Connor, Employee Benefits Consultant at BHSF, presented
the goblet to John at the company's factory in Camp Hill,
Birmingham, and said: "John's long association with BHSF has been
exceptional and it is only right that we recognise this formidable
achievement" .
"We cannot thank John enough for all the work he has put in at
Sulzer Dowding and Mills on our behalf and we wish him a long,
happy and healthy retirement. It has been well earned."
