Loughborough-based contractor and developer, William Davis Ltd
has announced a high level of interest in the speculative
industrial units the company has built on Airfield Business Park,
Market Harborough, which adjoin the new innovation centre.
The six self-contained units, which vary in size from 1,617 sq
ft to 2,106 sq ft, are available on a freehold or leasehold basis
and feature designated HGV loading areas together with on site car
parking. At present, four sales are agreed with local businesses
looking to expand, which represents over 70% of the total available
floor space.
Stewart Kellie, senior development surveyor at William Davis
said: "These are the first units William Davis has speculatively
built post-recession and whilst this is not indicative of current
trends, we felt the timing was right for Market Harborough, which
is evident in the number of enquiries we have received."
One of the new businesses relocating is Select Catering
Solutions Ltd, which provides bespoke food packaging and catering
disposables across the UK. Managing director Paul Armstrong had
been looking for new premises from which to centralise resources.
"We are working with a number of companies that have won catering
contracts for the Olympics to develop a food packaging product and
we needed a site to continue testing and developing this product.
In addition, we have also launched a new coffee brand - Caffe
Carrara - and are looking to open a coffee school," explains
Paul.
"The unit at Airfield will provide ample space to facilitate
both these plans and means we will be able to create three new
jobs, one junior and two field sales, as well as having greater
interaction with our clients. It has been built to an extremely
high standard and we are very much looking forward to moving in and
growing our business."
Stewart added: "Businesses like Select Catering Solutions are
exactly the type of company Airfield Business Park will attract.
Its location at the gateway to the town is highly accessible, with
Leicester just 13 miles to the North and London commutable in just
over an hour. The company has planning permission for a further
250,000 sq ft of business space, so we will continue to talk to
local businesses and gauge demand for future development."
The units at Airfield Business Park, which are adjacent the
Harborough Innovation & Business Centre, are being jointly
marketed by Andrew Granger at Andrew Granger & Co (01858
439090); Geoff Gibson at Lambert Smith Hampton (0116 255 2694) and
Amanda Lawrence at Budworth Hardcastle (01536 483400).
