Eco-friendly water firm, Greenworks Solutions has secured a
contract to supply the Accor hotel group with sustainable bottled
water systems in its Novotel hotels across the UK.
The water cooler and washroom supplies specialist, with central
operations in the West Midlands, will install its hospitality
system in all 31 Novotel hotels across the UK. The system will
replace the current bottled mineral water used within the hotels'
conference facilities.
Greenworks Solutions MD Adam Warren said: "It is an honour to
work with Novotel Hotels to help them achieve their sustainability
goals."
It is estimated the new water system will reduce the amount of
bottled mineral water used by 60 tonnes a year in each hotel, a
total of 1,860 tonnes a year across all the hotels.
Colin Norris, UK sales director for Greenworks Solutions, said:
' The Accor group gives priority to products that use less
packaging and are less toxic for the environment at the end of
their life cycle.
"Bottled mineral waters travel long distances across the world.
They increase carbon emissions and the majority of bottles are not
recycled. Our mains-fed system is a greener, more cost effective
and sustainable solution to bottled mineral water."
Greenworks provide on-site water bottling systems to a range of
venues, including hotels, restaurants and conference facilities.
The system uses mains-fed water, which is filtered, chilled and
bottled on site and can be served as still or sparkling in reusable
bottles.
"By using this water alternative, we are helping to combat the
negative environmental impact caused by transportation and
packaging waste associated with pre-bottled waters," added
Colin.
All profit from the sale of Greenworks Solutions bottles goes
directly into the Greencare Foundation, which supports water
projects, river dredging and planting of semi-deciduous trees in
Ghana.
