The UK's leading press release writing and distribution agency
got into the Wimbledon spirit last week, serving up a pair of
Wimbledon Court One tickets to one lucky journalist.
Birmingham-based pr2go, asked its network of freelance
journalists to 'Recommend a Friend' to write for the company, to be
in with a chance of netting a pair of tickets to Wimbledon last
week.
Continuing with an ongoing push to grow its team of sector and
regional-specific writers, the competition aimed to show pr2go's
appreciation of its team of freelance journalists.
The ball was firmly in journalist Andy Richardson's court, who
aced the tickets after recommending his friend Ian Peasley, an
ex-journalist and sub-editor to join pr2go's freelance network.
Both are big tennis fans and play for Cannock Tennis Club, in the
Wilson Staffordshire Inter-Club Tennis League.
"I'm a huge tennis fan, so I was over the moon when Nick from
the pr2go team contacted me," said Andy.
"I've been to Wimbledon a few times, but I've never been on
Centre Court or Number One Court before. The atmosphere at
Wimbledon is special, and I had a brilliant time. I want to say a
big thank you to the pr2go team for making it happen", he
added.
The competition was also a celebration of a key date in
Britain's sporting social calendar, providing a great example of
how businesses can get involved with a national event, on a local
level.
"It was a great pleasure to present one of our journalists with
Wimbledon tickets, to show our appreciation of the excellent work
they produce," commented pr2go Operations Manager, Nick Clarke.
"I'm glad Andy had a great day, as I could see how thrilled he
was to receive the tickets. I'm sure he served up a racquet when
cheering on some of the greats of the world of tennis!" he
added.
As it approaches its second anniversary in July this year, pr2go
continues to maintain its rapid growth in client base and its team
of freelance journalists.
