Shropshire Business Awards have recently announced boutique
hotel, Fishmore Hall as the recent winners of the "Leisure and
Tourism" award 2011. The hotel was one of four finalists within the
Shropshire area and was presented with their award at a black-tie
evening held at the Telford International Centre on Saturday 3rd
June 2011.
When entering the competition, Fishmore Hall detailed all their
successes and achievements since their opening in 2007. Following a
complete renovation from a derelict building that was once home to
disobedient school boys to the more recent revamp of the AA rosette
awarded restaurant "Forelles at Fishmore" restaurant to the hotel's
sheer dedication in keeping everything local to Ludlow, justifies
why Fishmore hall deserve to be the crowned winners of the "Leisure
and Tourism" 2011 award.
One of their main priorities is working with local businesses
and the community to continue to make Shropshire a fantastic
destination to both live and visit. The hotel has long-standing
relationships with local businesses with 80% of their food
purchases made in Ludlow. Fishmore Hall are also big believers in
sustainability, for example their venture involves them buying in
Ludlow Food Centre's buttermilk waste to make smoothies for
breakfast. They also work closely with Ludlow school by sending
members of staff from the hotel to teach in their after school
cookery club once a term.
Hotel owner, Laura Penman is delighted with the news, she
commented how "surprised" she is at winning such a "sought after
award" considering "the strong competition in Shropshire, who all
do an excellent job within the hospitality industry".
Laura's feedback on why her hotel succeeded in winning is down
to Fishmore Hall's "great honesty in everything they do". With good
honesty comes good quality with is something Fishmore hall are
excellent in delivering time and time again.
