A hi-tech business creating new jobs and new opportunities for almost 100 school leavers and teenage apprentices is being launched in Birmingham.

Got IT Covered is the brainchild of directors Stuart Collett and Harvinder Hayer who are taking office space in Birmingham's Southside district.

The business is creating ten new senior jobs and work for 16 to 18-year-olds in IT support, book-keeping, payroll, business administration and customer service.

More than £250,000 is being invested in the venture which will see apprentices skilled in providing quality IT support to small and medium-sized businesses as well as a book keeping, payroll and business administration service.

Got IT Covered will provide technical systems support either down the phone or out on site for companies, IT sales and an online shop offering the latest in computer equipment, mobile phones and software.

It is already a recognised Microsoft partner and in addition to its commercial enterprise Got IT Covered will be home to an accredited Microsoft prometric test centre, which is a computer-based exam system.

Director Stuart Collett said: "Investing in Southside makes business sense for us. We are taking over the ground floor of the recently built Latitude building in Hurst Street.

"It is ideal because our apprentices will get two days each week at our training partner and neighbour GB Training and spend the rest of their time hands on gaining invaluable experience with Got IT Covered. All the apprentices will have the opportunity to gain full apprentice frameworks firstly at Level 2 followed by Level 3.

"After working for Got IT Covered we will either take them on as full-time employees, some may progress to university or others into alternative employment.

"This new business model means we are able to give service and sales provision which will give quality IT support, payroll, book-keeping and business administration at very competitive rates for small and medium businesses."

Currently Got IT Covered is operating from Wynner House, in Hurst Street and will move into its new site once planning and refurbishment are completed over the coming months.

Got IT Covered has invested in additional new print equipment and will also provide a commercial print service from its Hurst Street location.
