Associate)
Midlands law firm Challinors has acquired specialist divorce and
family law practice Rosleys Solicitors, which has been in
Nottingham city centre for 27 years.
Rosleys' founder John Rosley, Partner Claire McLeod, with the
practice since 1997, and its six support staff, all move to
Challinors.
The practice will continue to operate from its offices in
Nottingham's Bridlesmith Gate, and will be headed by Pramila
Meghani, who joined Challinors as an Associate last month from
Fraser Brown, where she was head of the family team for 18
years.
Challinors opened its first East Midlands office at Colwick in
2008, with a civil and commercial litigation team dedicated to the
region, headed by Partners Jeremy Hale and Michael Knibbs.
According to the firm's chief executive Andy Hodges, this latest
acquisition is a significant step in Challinors plans to build a
complementary family team in the region: "The appointment of
Pramila, a well experienced and highly regarded specialist family
lawyer, has given Challinors a dynamic lead for our East Midlands
family law team, as well as an exceptional additional resource to
our team operating throughout the Midlands.
"With the acquisition of Rosleys, an established, recognised
family and matrimonial law practice in Nottingham city centre,
Challinors has completed its next step in this particular aspect of
its growth strategy for the region.
"Rosleys is known as a specialist family law and divorce
practice in Nottingham and the East Midlands, but uniquely the
practice also has a proven track record in cross-border,
international family, divorce and children's cases, giving
Challinors another 'edge' in the region's legal arena."
He adds: "With the ongoing changes across the UK legal market,
it is vital firms are accessible, guarantee client's legal
excellence, and offer something different. These values underpin
our strategy at Challinors, and enhancing our regional network of
offices, putting the firm and its core legal specialisms at the
heart of the Midlands communities is of major importance, and the
acquisition of Rosleys easily demonstrates and meets this
ambition."
Challinors has offices in Birmingham, West Bromwich,
Wolverhampton, Halesowen and Nottingham. It has 21 partners and
over 100 fee earners, and is ranked as one of the top legal firms
in the West Midlands. The firm is Number 1 in the Chambers UK
Directory in a number of categories, including Crime and Clinical
Negligence.
