Warwickshire-based building services provider, EIC, has won a £1m mechanical and electrical contract at Nuffield Health Hospital in Tunbridge Wells.

The contractor will be renewing and upgrading the mechanical and electrical services at the hospital as it undergoes a multi-million pound refurbishment. This win comes after EIC's successful completion of a contract to refurbish the boiler house at the hospital last year.

EIC will be working alongside main contractor ISG Jackson, and the contract will be carried out in phases so the hospital can remain operational throughout, causing minimum disruption to patients and staff during the 49-week programme.

John Harris, EIC contracts director, said: "We are delighted to be making a return visit to Nuffield Hospital and to be a part of this exciting project. Investment in the healthcare sector has proved more robust than some other areas of the market as state of the art equipment and up-to-date systems are vital for their day-to-day operations. The private sector in particular has been keen to invest in its facilities, reflecting its strong customer focused approach to service delivery.

"With almost 40 years' experience in the health sector, EIC is well placed to help healthcare customers make the most of their investment. We have the knowledge and expertise to anticipate our clients' requirements, undertaking work which offers best whole life value and maximises cost savings."

Nuffield Health Tunbridge Wells Hospital originally opened in 1968 from funds raised by the local community and has established itself as a leading private healthcare provider in the region. The refurbishment, which commenced late last year is designed to improve the look and feel of the hospital and enhance the patient experience.

EIC's past experience in the health sector includes work for NHS Trusts, Nuffield Health, Mercury Healthcare, BUPA, Marie Curie Cancer Care and Trinity Health. More recently, EIC has carried out work for the New Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham , Southampton General Hospital and Addenbrooke's Hospital.

In addition to its national headquarters in Warwickshire, EIC has a network of 13 regional offices across the UK - from Cornwall to Scotland - enabling the firm to meet the needs of both local and national customers, wherever they are located.
