DTZ has raised a total of £150,000 for homeless and
housing charity Shelter during a two-year corporate charity
partnership. Staff at the global real estate services firm,
including DTZ's 250 strong workforce in Birmingham, raised the
money through a range of events including an art auction at DTZ's
headquarters, cake sales, dress down days and Shelter's Vertical
Rush event in which people race to the top of the City of London's
Tower 42.
The money will go towards supporting Shelter's vital work
helping homeless and badly housed people across Britain find and
keep a decent home.
Andrew Jones, UK Chief Operating Officer said: "As property
professionals, people at DTZ understand how good property offers
financial and physical security .Shelter does an excellent job
helping people in housing need. We are delighted to have raised
this substantial sum during our two-year partnership with the
charity. To raise this money, staff got involved in a wide range of
fundraising activities and have had a tremendous amount of fun
doing so."
Kate Pollard, Head of Corporate Community and Events at Shelter
added: "Raising these vital funds for Shelter in such a challenging
economic time is a great achievement and it will have a strong
impact on the lives of so many people affected by the distress of
homelessness and bad housing. Over one million people come to
Shelter for help and support every year and thanks to DTZ and its
employees we are able to continue to provide this invaluable
support."
