Derwent Living held its' 'Big Get Together' last week, and
residents were out in force to let the housing provider know what
they think of its services.
Over 150 people attended the company's annual general meeting
(AGM), which was held at The Quad in Derby, and gave residents the
chance to meet the teams responsible for key service areas and also
to meet with the directors and members of the Derwent Living board.
In addition to those who attended, 30 people watched the get
together on a live stream on the internet from their own homes.
Feedback at the event was a huge success with the majority of
customers completing consultation forms.
Derwent Living holds its' AGM every year, but this year, the
housing provider wanted to encourage residents and families to
attend. The aim was to make it as fun and informal as
possible, whilst giving people the chance to find out more about
its services.
There was a range of craft activities to keep younger children
entertained, as well as a masterclass for any wannabe DJ's, led by
a professional coach.
The event was a huge success and generated a positive response
from Derwent Living residents. Maureen Corkery from Alvaston in
Derby, said: "It was so good for customers and staff to be so
involved together. The added bonus was being able to watch it from
my home online."
Josie Gadsby from Littleover in Derby, said: "It was a great
evening, with lots of interesting things going on. A very big well
done and thank you to all the staff for the time and effort put
in."
A big attraction at the event was the grand prize draw. Lucky
winners on the night were John Nicholson from Cavendish Court in
Derby, who won a garden makeover, Aulton Johnson, from Nottingham
who won a room makeover for his home and Susan Sword, also from
Cavendish Court, won a meal for two and overnight stay at The
Cathedral Quarter Hotel in Derby.
Mitch Allseybrook, resident involvement manager at Derwent
Living says: "At this year's AGM we wanted to do something a little
bit different. We wanted to make the event fairly light hearted, to
encourage residents of all ages to come along and get involved. It
was a real success, and in total we managed to attract over 180
people, which is more than even we envisaged. Most of those who
attended completed consultation forms, which means we can now use
the feedback to further improve our services."
