A Derbyshire-based manufacturing company has expanded into new
premises with financial support from Barclays Business.
See-Tech Ltd, based in the Alfreton area of Derbyshire, recently
moved into the 9000 square foot site on the Stonebroom
Industrial Estate.
The company specialises in the manufacture of Distribution
Switchgear and Motor Control Equipment and supply hospitals,
colleges and schools as well as the mining, steel and power
industries.
The move follows an increase in orders for the company which has
seen them take on additional staff and will provide them with
greater capacity to fulfil these contracts.
See-Tech was first established in 1992. In 2005, following a
kidney transplant, current owner, David Lilley, bought out his
business partner and has developed the company into a £1.5
million turnover business.
Commenting on the latest expansion, Managing Director David
Lilley said: "Having the transplant operation in 2005, really
focussed my mind and I had a clear vision on how I wanted to take
the business forward. This wouldn't have been possible without a
dedicated workforce behind me."
The company has for many years run an effective apprenticeship
programme and many of its key workforce has completed their
apprenticeship with the business and furthered their career within
the business.
Jason Baker, Relationship Director at Barclays Business said: "I
am pleased to have been able to introduce See Tech to a fellow
long-term Barclays customer - Geoff Farmer, Managing Director and
Owner of Tibshelf engineering company - Adelphi Precision Ltd whose
former factory was at Stonebroom and I was aware that those
premises could possibly be for sale. Knowing that See Tech was keen
to stay within the Alfreton area, an introduction of the two
businessmen seemed a rewarding match, which turned out to be the
case when a sale was completed earlier this year.
"See-Tech has enjoyed a period of growth which is largely down
to David Lilley's clear vision for the business. I am delighted
that Barclays Business has been able to support them in their
latest development phase."
