Cushman & Wakefield's Birmingham-based asset management team
has won a prestigious national health and safety award.
The firm has scooped a gold award in the Royal Society for the
Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) annual Occupational and Safety
Awards 2011.
The RoSPA scheme has been recognising achievements in health and
safety since 1956, and is the longest running and most highly
respected occupational safety awards programme.
The judging panel - made up of representatives from the Health
and Safety Executive, the Institute of Occupational Health and
Safety and the Learning and Skills Council, amongst others -
describes gold achievers as taking "a rigorous approach to
occupational health and safety" and demonstrating "high levels of
compliance with control measures".
RoSPA says: "Gold award winners have achieved a very high level
of performance, demonstrating well developed occupational health
and safety management systems and culture".
Michael Lewis, associate director of risk management at Cushman
& Wakefield, said: "We put a high priority on risk management
and the service we provide to our customers.
"I am very pleased that the efforts of my team have been
recognised externally by such a prestigious organisation as
RoSPA."
