A business advisory firm has been given a coveted national award
for its policies to promote a healthy workplace.
Cooper Parry, with offices across the Midlands, has received the
Business in the Community's (BITC) coveted National 'Big Tick' for
improving the health and wellbeing of its employees through its
Wellbeing Programme.
This scheme, which has been running for over 18 months, gives
its employees practical tools and information to improve their
general wellbeing.
Jeremy Bowler, chief executive of Cooper Parry, said: "We are
delighted to have been awarded a Big Tick and to also have been
shortlisted for the overall Example of Excellence Award.
"We have always taken a proactive approach to the health and
wellbeing of our team and integrated it into our business strategy
by investing in areas such as our Wellbeing programme. We know that
we cannot build a successful sustainable business without
constantly showing our commitment to our team. "
"This award is recognition of that commitment and sits alongside
Cooper Parry's status as being one of the few Investors in People
who have achieved both Gold and Champion status. We will continue
to invest in and develop our people to help Cooper Parry achieve
its aims."
Cooper Parry will now go forward for the title of Example of
Excellence in the Bupa Workwell Award category and compete against
other national firms. The final results will be announced at the
Awards for Excellence Gala Event sponsored by Unilever on 5
July.
The Big Tick awards recognise inspirational programmes that are
making a positive impact on the community, the environment or wider
society.
Stephen Howard, Chief Executive, Business in the Community said:
"I congratulate Cooper Parry on achieving their Big Tick.
"It is a challenging time for business, but this is a sign that
companies are not losing their focus and are transforming their
businesses to make a positive impact on people and society and are
prepared to lead by example.
"Communities and consumers need to see that businesses are
proactive, visible and engaged on the big issues of the day, as
Cooper Parry has demonstrated."
