Business leaders, Paul Griffin, Head of Employment Law at DBS,
Tom Fanning, Chief Executive of the M6 Toll operator, Midland
Expressway Ltd, Simon Turl, CEO of Roadchef, and Eric Le Corre,
Managing Director of Michelin Tyre plc are to lead off a charity
ride out in aid of Midlands Air Ambulance on June 26th 2011.
The four local businessmen will join up to 1000 fellow
motorcycle enthusiasts for 'Bike4Life', an 80 mile massed ride out
across the Midlands, which kicks off at midday from Sixways
Stadium, Worcester, home of the newly promoted Worcester
Warriors.
Also joining the ride-out are motorcycle paramedics from West
Midlands Ambulance Service and the bike squad from West Mercia
Police and West Midlands Fire Service.
"The Midlands Air Ambulance flight crew and paramedics are real
heroes," says Paul Griffin. "We all think we have important jobs to
do but these guys deal with real human emergencies and saving lives
on a daily basis so it will be a real honour to ride with
them."
Paul has been a bike fan since his teenage years and currently
rides a 600cc Yamaha Thundercat, whilst Eric, who moved to the UK
last autumn, is looking forward to discovering the beauty of the
English countryside on his Aprilia RSV Factory.
This is the second year that friends Tom Fanning and Simon Turl
have led the Bike4Life ride-out with Tom riding a Triumph
Bonneville America and Simon Turl on his 1800cc Harley Davidson
Screaming Eagle Ultra.
"Simon and I are both big bike fans so the opportunity to ride
80 miles of the best road network in the region, in the company of
so many other bike fans, and all for a good cause, is too good to
miss. I urge any bikers out there to join us on 26th June" says Tom
Fanning from Midland Expressway Ltd.
Organised jointly by Midlands Air Ambulance and key sponsor DBS
Law, the Broad Street based law firm, 'Bike4Life' is free to enter
but riders will be asked to make a voluntary donation to the Air
Ambulance charity, which has set a target of raising £10,000
from the event.
