Eclipse, the second and final residential phase of Bristol's £500 Cabot Circus development is due to complete by early next year, say Birmingham based property developers MCD.

The privately owned development, regeneration and investment company, based in Water Street Court has commenced the fit out of the £25 million, 18- storey building in Bristol.

The prominent development conveniently sits above the chic Harvey Nicholls department store and is set to house 76 high quality one and two bedroom apartments and three bedroom duplex penthouses. All properties come with balconies and views across Bristol.

The first apartments will be ready to move into by this October.

Completion of the apartments will signal the end of the Cabot Circus regeneration project which began in 2005, when the Bristol Alliance invested £500m in Bristol's biggest re-vamp since the end of World War II.

The luxury apartments, with panoramic views across the city will be priced at around £187,500 for a one bedroom apartment and from £274,500 for a two bedroom apartment.

Commenting on the development, co-founder and chief executive of MCD, Steven Byrne said:

"We are delighted to announce that construction work has begun on Eclipse. The previous phase of the Cabot Circus residential development, Horizon, proved a great success for MCD Developments, with only eight properties out of 119 currently remaining on the market, despite the recent economic climate. MCD tailored its approach to the development of Eclipse to suit the economy and felt that 2011 would be the ideal time to progress with the final phase of the luxury development. Whilst the market's return to stability is still in its infancy, we are confident off the success of Eclipse."

Other MCD developments include the conversion of Brindley House, an ex-telecommunications building, vacant for many years and once dubbed 'the ugliest building in Birmingham', now an award winning 182 apartment development and Warwickshire County Cricket Ground in Edgbaston.

MCD will be developing the apartments in line with its current green and sustainable award winning standards.
