Six talented third-year Graphic Design students from the
University of Lincoln have entered a competition to design a new
logo for one of the city's longest established networking
clubs.
Lincoln Business Club, which meets 7am at Lincoln City FC on the
last Friday of every month, was first established in 2004.
Originally there were 28 members but now the club has over 650
registered businesses from a diverse range of sectors including web
designers, solicitors, plumbers and acupuncturists.
To reflect the ethos of the club - which has always been to
raise money for charity whilst encouraging firms to do business
together - and the growth it has achieved over the past seven
years, the committee has decided it's time to bring the logo and
the website up-to-date.
Two of the six designs have been shortlisted by the committee
and will be presented to members at the Lincoln Business Club
meeting on Friday 24thJune who will then be asked to vote for their
favourite.
Either Sophie Adams or Elizabeth Honey's logo will be adopted by
the business club as its official logo and will appear on the new
website, which is being designed by Macian Web Design, on business
cards and on the club's social media profiles including Facebook,
Twitter and Linkedin.
Lincoln Business Club's Acting Chairman John Cawdell said:
"We're proud to represent one of the city's longest established and
most successful networking group but thought it was time to give
the club's branding a new look.
"We launched the logo design competition as a way of encouraging
students at the University of Lincoln, who will be the next
generation of business people, to get involved with the club and
we're delighted with their efforts.
"We also hope it's provided them with valuable experience of
what it's like working on a real-life project and something to
enhance their portfolio and CV."
