A world-record breaking bra chain attempt is getting an extra
lift, thanks to the services of national express delivery
specialist APC Overnight.
APC Overnight Head office located in Essington, West Midlands ,
has provided the use of its 120 depots nationwide as collection
points where people can donate their unwanted and unloved bras to
the Bra Chain Guinness World Record breaking attempt on 31
July.
The bra chain is also hoping to raise £200,000 for
national charities Breakthrough Breast Cancer and Women's Aid, as
well as Worcestershire Breast Care Unit.
So far, the campaign has collected 130,000 bras and wants
another 70,000 more to break the existing world record held in
Australia.
Staff and customers of APC have committed their full support to
the campaign.
APC head of sales and marketing Steve Salt said: "Every one of
us has unfortunately been touched by cancer in some shape or form
and APC is delighted to lend its support and we encourage as many
people as possible to bring their donations to our drop-off centres
around the UK. Every contribution helps."
Campaign organiser Karen Tomalin and head of the Bra Chain
welcomed APC's involvement.
She said: "We've been overwhelmed by people from all over the
country wanting to donate their bras, so we're thrilled to have APC
on board.
"Whatever their size, condition or colour, new or old, we want
to smash the world record with a continuous chain of 200,000 bras
linked together."
