A Derby accounting firm has stamped its presence on a suburb's
shopping centre by opening in a former post office.
Pride Park Accountants, trading as Chaddesden Accountants, have
started business in the old post office on Nottingham Road among
the many Chaddesden shops.
The company has two co-directors, Paul Wood and Tracey Baxter,
plus three part-time staff.
Paul headed up Pride Park Accountancy Services, also known as
Book Keeping Plus, when it was based on Victoria Way. Tracey had
her own book-keeping business and was working from home until the
two businesses merged.
The two directors have known each for seven years, having met
through their sons who attend the Boys' Brigade at the United
Reformed Church in Reginald Road South. Both live within a few
minutes walk of the office and know the area well.
"Pride Park is fantastic, but here we have all the local
facilities that we want," said Paul. "We were keen to have a high
street presence and we are aiming for the small and micro business
market."
The two directors are members of the Association of Accounting
Technicians. Their services include preparing accounts,
book-keeping, payroll, VAT returns, self-assessment and corporation
tax.
They have already had a number of new enquiries and are holding
an open day at the premises on Friday (July 1) from 9am-4pm for
people to pop in.
