Yan Evans, of Bilton, Rugby, has joined sustainable energy
technology business ENER-G as group business development
director.
Yan (aged 43) joins the international ENER-G group, which is
based in Studley and Greater Manchester, from Baxi's commercial
division, where he was technical director with responsibility for
the market-leading Potterton Commercial and Andrews Water Heater
brands.
He will report to group managing director Derek Duffill on a
wide-ranging remit to drive ongoing growth that has seen turnover
reach £130m in the current financial year - up from
£97m in the previous period.
His achievements at Baxi included helping to establish the
commercial division in 2007 and developing the company's combined
heat and power (CHP) business in the UK, having established Baxi
Technologies UK in 2003. He also headed up the development of
Baxi's commercial product and services portfolio, which embraced
renewable technologies such as solar thermal and heat pumps.
Yan held senior roles within GEC Alstom, Volvo Aero Corporation
and Advantica Technologies. He has vast experience of large gas
turbine, micro-turbine and reciprocating engine based power
generation and CHP solutions
He is a chartered engineer, registered in both the UK and
Europe, and is a member of Institute of Engineering and Technology,
the Energy Institute, the Chartered Institute of Building Services
Engineers and The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and
Air-Conditioning Engineers.
Yan has a degree in electromechanical engineering and almost 20
years' experience of working in the power generation, energy and
building services sectors. He has authored many articles and
continuing professional development modules in national and
international journals on the application of low and zero carbon
technologies, and is a regular presenter and keynote speaker at
clean tech industry conferences.

by export. Yan's considerable talents are crucial in helping us to
write ENER-G's continuing success story."

Originally from Aberdare, South Wales, Yan lives in Rugby with
his wife Debbie and two young daughters Chloe and Evie.
