Leading air filtration company Filter Fit is growing fast thanks
to its close logistics partnership with Wolverhampton's APC
Overnight. The Worcestershire based specialist filter company
supplies spares to retailers such as Curry's, PC World and GAP and
to facilities management companies, including VINCI Facilities,
Integral and Shepherd FM. Filter Fit bases its strong year-on-year
growth on its cost effectiveness and reliability, with APC
Overnight's speedy and reliable next day deliveries playing a major
part in the company's success.
"Reliability has been a keystone in helping Filter Fit's growth.
We set up the company in 2008 and we are doubling the size of our
business yearly. APC Overnight has an important role in helping us
to fulfil orders and provide a fast and quality delivery service to
our customers throughout the UK. The local depot, APC PGS, provides
consistent good service and is flexible. We can always trust the
company to deliver our consignments on time, which is crucial for
keeping our customers happy," says David Hicks, Director, Filter
Fit.
Filter Fit supplies a wide range of filters and belts for the
leading brands of industrial air filtration equipment, including
Mitsubishi, Biddle Air Systems and Thermoscreens. Retailers install
these systems in their stores to provide clean air.
To function properly, filters need replacing every few months.
Filter Fit can change them and dispose of the old filters as a
special service to customers. This is becoming a popular service as
it is cheaper than having to book an engineer to do the work. APC
Overnight ensures the parts are delivered to site ready for Filter
Fit's technical team.
Filter and belt consignment collections are booked automatically
using a web-based system installed by APC PGS. The system automates
the booking process and provides traceability and proof of
delivery. It also prints the shipping labels
automatically.
"The local depot monitors our bookings using the system. Once
we've completed the day's orders, the consignments are collected
and then trunked to the APC hub in the midlands for delivery to our
customers nationwide. It is a very efficient system from booking
the collections through to final delivery," says David Hicks.
