Tax, trusts and estates solicitor Catriona Attride has joined Needham & James, the Stratford upon Avon office of Midlands' law firm Shakespeare Putsman, as a partner in the private client team.

She is the latest in a series of senior hires for the firm's private client team which includes Sarah Walker who joined the firm as a partner in March this year.

Catriona was formerly partner and head of the private client team at Williamson & Soden based in Shirley, where she grew the team to seven fee earners during her five years with the firm.

She was previously with the private client team at Wragge & Co in Birmingham, and moved with the team when it transferred to Mills & Reeve in May 2005.

A specialist in all matters for private clients at all levels, Catriona has extensive experience in tax planning, particularly for high net worth clients, estate planning, as well as contentious probate and Wills cases.

Commenting on her appointment, Catriona said: "The firm is very much focussed on delivering the best possible service for clients, an ethos which fits extremely well with the way I work with clients and their families.

"As a partner in the private client team I have a great platform to work with the existing very strong team and to build the specialist service provided to both existing and new clients. The private client team combines specialist solicitors with extensive and proven experience of delivering a high quality, full service to clients, and together present a robust and dependable law firm of choice for the local community."

She added: "Shakespeare Putsman is one of the largest providers of legal services operating from key locations across the Midlands. Needham & James already has an excellent reputation in Stratford, the Cotswolds and the wider South Midlands area, and we have the ideal team to match the needs of the high quality client work across the area."

Needham & James merged with Midlands law firm Shakespeare Putsman LLP last year. The combined firm has around 440 people located in five offices - Birmingham, Nottingham, and Stratford upon Avon, together with Shipston on Stour and Moreton in Marsh in the Cotswolds. It is one of the largest providers of legal advice in the Midlands and ranks within the top 100 law firms in the UK.
