One of the best known national roadside restaurant brands has been given a fresh new interior featuring clouds on the ceiling, mosaic tiled walls and stylish red furniture.

Willmott Dixon Interiors was appointed by Little Chef to transform three restaurants in Bedford, Podimore in Somerset and Shrewsbury, which were part of the next nine new concept restaurants to get an exciting new modern interior. 

Willmott Dixon has worked with interior designer Ab Rogers, who has completed projects for a wide range of major cultural and commercial clients, including Tate Modern, the Pompidou Centre and Condé Nast, in helping the iconic brand develop a contemporary new image for its restaurant chain.

Willmott Dixon Interiors director Warren Troy said, "The look and feel of these three restaurants is really quite exceptional, making them bright and welcoming places to dine. I know they are already creating very positive comments from both staff and customers alike" 

The new-look Little Chefs also feature the new 'Good to Go' range, alongside a changed kitchen layout and new take-away service area.  As site contractors Willmott Dixon worked with Little Chef to implement the refined design developed by Ab Rogers's without compromising the 'wow factor' of the original.

Warren said, "It took five weeks to totally refurbish the sites, implementing the re-design to the interiors and adding red cladding panels to the exterior, to extend the fresh look and feel of the buildings external appearance."

The nine new concept restaurants that were opened in April, which carry the new Little Chef look and feel, are part of a £20m investment programme. The plan is to roll out at least 20 new restaurants in the next twelve months with the rest of the estate to follow.
