A new finance director has been appointed at Derbyshire firm
Wildgoose Construction.
Dave Withers has taken on the role after former finance director
Alan Clarke retired from the Ashover-based firm.
Father-of-two Mr Clarke, 63, of Clowne, Derbyshire, worked for
Wildgoose for 28 years and is now planning to spend more time with
his wife Rita and watching his beloved Sheffield Utd.
Tim Walker, managing director at Wildgoose Construction,
presented Mr Clarke with some farewell gifts from the staff.
He said: "It has been a pleasure to work with Alan over the
years and we would like to thank him for his loyalty to the
company. We would like to wish him a long and happy retirement and
welcome Dave Withers to the company."
Mr Withers, 44, of Sheffield, is a Lancastrian who attended
Sheffield University, where he gained a First in
Mathematics.
He trained as a chartered accountant in Sheffield with
Coopers&Lybrand, now part of PwC - the largest accountancy firm
in the world.
From Coopers, Mr Withers joined Amco, a Yorkshire-based mining,
drilling and engineering company.
He then worked for mobile phone giant Sony Ericsson before
returning to contracting as finance director for AECOM Design
Build, a process engineering company specialising in water,
wastewater and waste management sectors.
Mr Withers, who is married with three children, said he was
thrilled to be working for Wildgoose.
He said: "I am excited to be working with a quality company like
Wildgoose who have such a good track record of delivering their
customers' requirements at a cost they can afford, leading them to
return to Wildgoose time and time again.
"Alan is a hard act to follow but I hope to continue the good
work he has done to ensure that we can give an excellent value for
money service to all our clients."
