A senior project manager on a major new development in Telford
is thinking green when it comes to getting around the massive
construction site.
Kier Moss is developing a new sixth form block at Madeley
Academy, and instead of using his car every time he needs to get
from one side of the enormous site to the other, Tony Bevan gets on
his bike.
"At Kier Moss, we're always committed to doing everything we can
to minimise the impact of our construction projects on the
environment," said Tony.
"And as well as being good for the environment, using my bike is
good for my own health too, so that's an added incentive."
Tony's efforts are just one of the company's local environmental
policies which have been introduced to help Kier Moss meet its
objectives.
"We've already introduced a highly successful recycling campaign
on site, and have been working with the local community to protect
the natural environment.
"We're also very aware of the impact our large workforce has on
the local environment, so we've ensured around half our
sub-contractors on the Madeley site come from within a 25-mile
radius," said Tony.
"Kier Moss is dedicated to protecting the environment, no matter
which project we're working on, and it's clear that our hard work
is beginning to pay off."
