This week sees the first in a series of fun gourmet food and
wine suppers, to celebrate National Wine Month.
The events are being held across Shropshire to help the regions
foodies to understand and appreciate a little more about World
wines - Whilst having fun "People should make more time for wine"
comments co-promoter and BBC Broadcaster Philippe Boucheron "too
many people are too stuffy about wine, and we aim to put the fun
back in to wine by hosting these informal suppers, which include
tastings and matching's to dishes created by some of our regions
finest chefs, I am really looking forward to them".
The wine suppers are organised by Midlands Lifestyle Dining Club
Gourmet Life. Director James Day adds "Many of our members request
such dinners, and they are always very popular, so we thought these
events dedicated to making time for wine, and putting the fun back
into wine were ideal - our chefs have created some wonderful menus
to compliment"
The events are being held from this Wednesday 18th May at the
newly refurbished Lion and Pheasant, Shrewsbury, then The Saracens
at Hadnall next week, and the Hadley Park Hotel Dorrells Restaurant
Telford, and Fishmore Hall new Forrells restaurant, Ludlow. "Our
last event was great fun" adds Allison Christie of The Saracens at
Hadnall "All our guests were laughing around the table and
chatting whilst they enjoyed the wines and incredible food our chef
david created, it was like a dinner with friends, and they were
keen for another similar event, we are really looking forward to
this one with our wine quiz, it should be real fun"
