Local business group Staffordshire Marketing Academy launched
just 4 weeks ago. Their Action for Business: LIVE event goes from
strength to strength as another new speaker is announced.
Ian Donaldson who grew up in Kidsgrove will be sharing his story
of success since starting Autonet in 1998 and growing it to in
excess of £90m and a staff of over 450 at their headquarters
in Burslem, Stoke on Trent.
John Capper, Group member said, "We're delighted to have Ian on
board. His business is a fine example of what can happen for people
who have a plan and work hard. Those joining us on the 27 May will
have a unique opportunity listen in on a live interview where
they'll learn from Ian's experience of setting up and growing a
business, successfully."
Action for business: LIVE takes place at the Moat House,
Festival Park, where a number of lively, short, interactive
sessions will take place offering marketing ideas that any business
can action. The event is designed to support established and
start-up companies to encourage collaboration and raise the profile
of Staffordshire as a whole.
The event will feature presentations and workshops from people
who are succeeding in a wide range of local businesses including
marketing strategy and planning, brand, web design, customer
management, referral marketing and how to build relationships using
social media and video technology as well as world renowned
authority on personal branding and networking, Rob Brown.
Group members include; Caroline Law, Denis Sidebottom, Mandy
Robinson, James Capper, Damian Brittleton and Phil Oakley.
They are giving their time for free to organise a not for profit
event on 27 May.
The group plan to offer on-going support through an online group
and further face to face events to anyone who is looking to grow
their business and create jobs and wealth in the area.
Staffs Marketing Academy member, Mandy Robinson added, "We've
had a terrific response to the event and we already have over 80
businesses who have booked tickets for the 27 May."
Attendees at the Moat House event will pay a £25 fee to
help cover the costs of room hire and refreshments. Any profit from
the day will be donated to local charities.
