A Shropshire-based online auction business is reminding local
firms that they can get a first-rate price for selling their
second-hand plant and equipment.
Mr Machinery, which is headquartered in Shrewsbury, claims that
demand for high-quality used plant, vehicles and equipment has
never been greater, with its fortnightly auctions continuing to
result in higher than anticipated final sales prices for a wide
range of items including trucks, trailers, diggers and
excavators.
"Construction companies in particular have struggled to source
brand new plant and equipment, due to a slowdown in manufacturing
that can often lead to a 6-12 month waiting list for new
machinery," Mark Bacon, Managing Director of Mr Machinery,
revealed. "This shortage in supply has also resulted in hugely
inflated prices for new equipment too, which is why more and more
firms in need of plant and machinery are exploring the used
equipment alternative."
Items up for sale at recent Mr Machinery auctions have been
sourced from as far afield as Finland, Greece and Portugal, as well
as from across the UK and Ireland; while bids have come from
potential buyers based in Japan, Africa, the United States, and
Australia.
"At one of our most recent auctions, a digger with an estimated
value of £30,000 was eventually sold to a bidder in Nigeria
for £42,000 plus shipping - there's a real opportunity for
construction companies and farm businesses especially to obtain
excellent value for their surplus used plant and heavy
machinery.
"I'd urge any local business with unwanted diggers, tractors,
trucks, trailers or any other used equipment and vehicles to take
advantage of our free valuation service on www.mrmachinery.com,
where by simply uploading an image of their machine and entering
some basic details - such as the year it was manufactured and the
serial number - our experts will be able to give an assessment of
the item's potential value at auction."
