A Staffordshire company which specialises in providing security
solutions has become the first in the UK to gain special
accreditation for its state-of-the-art tracking device.
RedWeb Technologies, based in Rugeley, has gained the automotive
industry standard Thatcham Cat 5 approval for its RX10 tracking
device.
Thatcham Quality Assurance (TQA) is a robust verification
programme for the assessment and recognition of automotive
products, equipment and services. The Thatcham security testing
regime is considered to be one of the most rigorous in the world
and acts as a model for crime prevention efforts
internationally.
RedWeb Technologies RX10 device is hardwired to an asset (car,
plant machinery or farm vehicle) and then RedWeb's GPS 'Saturn'
Tracking Software allows users to keep tabs on their tracker by
mobile phone or by computer. The company's tracking system also
allows users to track individual or multiple devices.
Chris Smith, Group Sales Director for Redweb Technologies, was
delighted with his company's exclusive accreditation
achievement:
"We are delighted our RX10 tracking device has achieved the high
standards required for Thatcham Cat 5 approval. This is a major
milestone for RedWeb Technologies. The RX10 adds an exciting new
product to be sold into the vehicle, farming, plant and UK police
force market.''
The RX10 model was rigorously tested by Thatcham to predefined
criteria. This testing, supported by rigorous examination of
quality systems and manufacturing process controls, is intended to
provide confidence in the product or service performance and an
objective evaluation of its capabilities. All of this is monitored
and periodically reviewed throughout the duration of the product
certification to ensure that the levels of quality, service and
performance are retained.
With the launch of the new RX-10, RedWeb has also signed a
partnership with Securi-Guard to provide the UK and European wide
monitoring service.
Securi-Guard, which pioneered the Europe wide Securi-Track
monitoring system, is the only national security inspectorate gold
systems operating centre (SOC) in the UK.
Pete Stanley, Head of Telematics UK & Europe for
Securi-Guard, said: "Being selected to provide the service to
RedWeb is an endorsement of Securi-Track's growing reputation for
vehicle and asset monitoring across the UK and Europe. This
partnership represents an exciting opportunity for both companies
to expand their service offerings to the market.
