Employees from Bluestar Security in Wolverhampton are jumping on
their bikes next week (May 13th) in a bid to raise £50,000
for a life-saving Charity.
The five employees are joining other keen fundraisers from the
Sikh community to embark on a 180 mile bike ride in aid of Midlands
Air Ambulance which celebrates its 20th anniversary this
month.
Gearing into action on Friday 13th May the ride will take three
days to complete and will cover some of the best cycling routes
between London Bridge and the Midlands Air Ambulance airbase at
Strensham Services, M5 northbound.
The exhausting challenge was the brainchild of Navinder Singh,
owner of Bluestar Security who wants to encourage others to support
the Charity which last year attended 547 incidents across the West
Midlands.
"I wanted to set myself a real challenge which would help raise
awareness of Midlands Air Ambulance amongst a variety of different
communities," says 27 year old Navinder.
"The air ambulance does a huge amount of work and is there for
everyone whether you are Asian, Sikh, rich or poor. I know
£50,000 is a huge target to have set but I wanted to
encourage other people to help the Charity as well - if a small
independent company can achieve this much then just think what the
bigger companies could do!"
Sky Channel 'Sangat TV' will be supporting the cycle ride by
filming a documentary of the fundraising which will air at the
beginning of June.
Maria Jones, Fundraising Manager at Midlands Air Ambulance says
"I would like to wish Navinder and the team the best of luck in
their cycle ride. The guys have shown a fantastic amount of support
for Midlands Air Ambulance and I hope they enjoy every second of
their challenge. We'll be waiting for them at the finish
line!"
To help reach their total Bluestar Security will also host a
Charity Gala at West Bromwich Albion Football Ground on 3rd June.
Tickets are available at £40 each from
www.bluestarsecurity.co.uk or by calling Christian or Ian at
Impulse Marketing on 0121 609 7100.
