With the new Bribery Act coming into effect on 1st July 2010,
Banbury legal firm Spratt Endicott is pleased to announce North
Oxfordshire's Right Honourable Tony Baldry MP as guest speaker at
its free Bribery Act seminar on Friday 24th June.
Aimed at local companies wanting to know more about how the
revised legislation may affect their business, the forthcoming one
day seminar starts at 11am and will be held at Banbury Cricket
Club. The event will offer attendees an opportunity to ensure they
are aware of their obligations under the new Act before relaxing
and networking with like-minded individuals at a buffet lunch.
Tony Baldry MP is a practicing Barrister and Head of a
commercial Set of Chambers in London. Bringing 27 years' experience
as a Conservative Member of Parliament to the table, as well as
eight years as a Minster under Margaret Thatcher, Mr Baldry will
share his extensive employment law experience along with Spratt
Endicott's speakers, Senior Partner, John Spratt, Company
Commercial Partner, Hitendra Patel, and Carol Shaw, Head of
Employment Law.
Hitendra Patel, one of the founding partners of Spratt Endicott
in 2002, will kick off the seminar with an overview of the Bribery
Act and how it can potentially affect businesses. He will be
followed by John Spratt, head of Spratt Endicott's Company
Commercial team, looking at contracts and contractual issues. Carol
Shaw will complete Spratt Endicott's practical advice presentations
by discussing employee issues before handing the stage over to Mr
Baldry MP, who will complete the seminar by giving guests an
insight into the Government's view on the Bribery Act.
John Spratt brings over 25 years' experience in company and
commercial law, including high value commercial agreements for both
UK and international clients. Hitendra Patel has advised on a
number of large multi-national management buy outs and, most
recently, worked with a client in connection to the high profile
Formula One Grand Prix team. Carol Shaw is Spratt Endicott's Head
of Employment Law and has considerable experience in advising
employers and employees on employment law changes and within
Employment Tribunal advocacy.
John Spratt, Senior Partner at Spratt Endicott Solicitors,
comments: "We're honoured that Tony Baldry MP is lending us his
expertise at our free one day seminar. Not only will Mr Baldry's
presence ensure this event is a success, our seminar itself will
also help local businesses, and anyone else interested in learning
more, better understand the risks to their organisation, how they
can adapt their working practice and policies to ensure compliance
and reduce breaches and risks.
"Thanks to ever-changing employment laws and new legislation
such as this Bribery Act coming into force, there has never been a
better time to arm yourself with the necessary employment law
knowledge. So, our free one day seminar is an ideal place to
start."
Providing community businesses with all the information they may
need on the new Bribery Act, including how to comply and the
potential risks of non-compliance, Spratt Endicott's one day
seminar is a must-attend event. Registration will be taken on a
first come, first served basis so if you are interested, register
with Jane McDonald at jmcdonald@se-law.co.uk before Wednesday 15th
June.
