Event delegates will now have the chance to experience the best
of Birmingham's leisure offering thanks to Meet Birmingham's new
interactive itineraries service.
The itineraries aim to further the experience of Birmingham's
event visitors by offering organisers the chance to effectively
plan out virtual programmes for their delegates, creating a more
effortless experience and a seamless, joined-up approach when
staying in the city.
Ian Taylor, Commercial Director at Marketing Birmingham, which
manages the city's Meet Birmingham programme, said:
"With the corporate hospitality and events sector worth more
than £36 billion to the national economy, it is imperative
that we continue to devise original ways of attracting new visitors
into the city and ensuring that existing delegates get the most out
of their stay.
"An event delegate staying overnight in our city centre
currently spends around £200 during their visit. Our new,
interactive tool aims to significantly build on this figure, while
also encouraging visitors to stay longer."
The new tool, which features on Meet Birmingham's website,
offers the option to create bespoke itineraries using the city's
popular locations, from eating out and shopping to culture and
sport. A list of pre-suggested programmes, based on delegates'
specific characteristics, is also available - "Express Delegates",
keen to understand the quickest and most efficient itinerary,
"Power Delegates", interested in networking locations or
post-conference drinks, "Curious Delegates", eager to discover the
city beyond its conference venues and "More Than Delegates", who
wish to visit Birmingham's attractions with their families, are all
catered for.
Taylor continued:
"We appreciate that the needs and expectations of each of our
event visitors are different. Our itineraries will allow delegates
to individually plan their social time easily and effectively."
