Oswestry Rotary Club recently held its first Charity Golf Day at Oswestry Golf Club. The main sponsor of the event was local law firm Lanyon Bowdler. Lanyon Bowdler merged with the long established LG Solicitors last May. 

All money raised will be split equally between the County Air Ambulance and Macmillan Nurses.

Speaking on behalf of Lanyon Bowdler, senior partner Peter Flint said "This has been a thoroughly enjoyable day and Lanyon Bowdler is delighted to be able to support such an event. Nobody knows if, or when, they might need the services provided by the two Charities we have chosen, but both depend on financial donations from the community to ensure they are able to help when required."

Prizes were supplied by many of the local golf clubs, including Llangollen, Shrewsbury, Shifnal, Henelle and Market Drayton. Oswesty Golf Club professional Jason Davies also provided one of the prizes.
