A West Midlands man who has over 22 years experience in the
cleaning industry has just gained a prestigious standards
award.
Roy Fenwick is a cleaning operative at The Pavillion social club
on Stafford Road in Wolverhampton and has attained a nationally
recognised Level 2 NVQ Certificate, following the completion of a
structured three-month training scheme.
Mr Fenwick, of Fordhouses, in Wolverhampton, has been given
training by his employers Servicemaster, the leading office and
commercial contract cleaning company, and received his certificate
at a presentation recently.
Lifelong Wolves fan Mr Fenwick said: "Even though I have been
working for so many years, this is the culmination of learning
various skills and gaining experience over a period of time and is
the first official recognition of my work, so it really feels like
scoring a first goal!
"The training on systems, safety and methods given to me was
very practical and has helped me a great deal in the everyday
workings of my job.
"They stressed the importance of using common sense when
handling various materials and making sure that safety measures are
in place and adhered to, while ensuring that high standards are
maintained, so I am very grateful to Servicemaster for putting me
through the course."
Managing Director of Servicemaster, David Edwards added: "Roy
has been a very loyal, reliable and trustworthy employee and we
feel it important that all of our staff have the opportunity to
receive support for their work, and due recognition for the
standards that they constantly achieve, so he can feel very proud
of this NVQ Award."
Servicemaster employs over 300 staff covering the West Midlands
from its base in Telford and lists Brammer, BAe Systems and Cargill
among its clients.
