A leading car dealership is bowling over the world of cricket by
launching an affinity scheme with Staffordshire County Cricket
(SCC) to help them raise funds for the clubs it represents.
Knights BMW, which has dealerships in Stoke and Stafford, have
pledged to donate £100 back to the individual's cricket club
for every car sold through SCC.
The funds raised will help with the development and running
costs needed to maintain each of the SCC cricket clubs across
Staffordshire, with the amount donated back increasing with every
car sold.
The scheme allows SCC members, players, parents and club
officials to help raise money for their local cricket clubs by
buying their cars from Knights BMW.
Andy Grice, club programming officer at SCC, is hoping to help
raise significant funds for all of the clubs through the scheme's
success.
"We are delighted to be working alongside Knights BMW in order
to help the clubs in the area raise some much needed funds," he
said.
"By encouraging people to buy their new or used BMWs or MINIs
through us they can help their own club to develop, as funding has
significantly dropped in the last few years."
Dealer principal at the Stoke dealership, David Vickers said
Knights BMW is extremely keen to support local sports clubs.
"We have strong links to the community and sports clubs in the
area including sponsorship of Stoke City FC, Stoke Rugby Club and
Newcastle Town FC amongst others" he said.
"This scheme is a great way of getting the individual clubs
involved and encouraging them to buy raise money with the added
bonus of getting a great new car."
"We want to help encourage and develop sporting talent in
Staffordshire and by supporting the cricket clubs across
Staffordshire with their fundraising efforts we hope to achieve
that."
