A Shropshire-based residential property law expert is reaping
her well-deserved rewards after becoming one of the first Legal
Executives in the UK allowed to own a legal practice.
Kelly Davies, Director of Much Wenlock-based Fodens Solicitors
and a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives (ILEX), has just
returned from a special event at the House of Commons to mark being
named one of the first 100 Legal Executives in the country to
become an owner in a legal practice.
The celebration was staged in the Commons' Terrace Pavilion by
ILEX, the professional body that represents more than 22,000
qualified and trainee Legal Executives - lawyers that specialise in
a particular legal field, for example, civil litigation or
conveyancing.
Amongst the distinguished guests attending the event were
Richard Fuller MP, who hosted the evening, Adam Sampson, the Legal
Ombudsman, and Jonathan Djanogly MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary
of State at the Ministry of Justice.
"It was quite an honour to find out I was one of the first Legal
Executives to become an owner of a legal practice," Kelly Davies
explained. "I had a fantastic time at the House of Commons, and it
was great to meet so many of my peers and get to find out a little
bit more about their career progress too."
Stephen Foden, Founding Partner of Fodens Solicitors, added:
"This recognition by Kelly's professional body is a culmination of
many years of hard work, training and service to her clients, and
demonstrates that there are now other routes open to hard-working,
intelligent and conscientious people to working in, and owning, a
legal practice.
"To have Kelly recognised as one of the first 100 Legal
Executives in the UK to become an owner of a legal practice sends
out a reassuring message to our clients that the highest possible
standards of service will be provided by highly-qualified and
experienced experts."
