Stephen Smith, CEO of EMB Ltd, the leading enterprise and
economic development company that delivers a range of business
improvement services, has welcomed Skills Minister John Hayes's
recent announcement about the new package of support being made
available to support social enterprises.
"The Coalition Government recognises the vitally important role
that social enterprises play in building a better society and a
stronger economy, and is committed to helping this sector grow even
bigger."
Through funding being made available by the Skills Funding
Agency to the Leadership and Management Advisory Service, delivered
locally by EMB Ltd, senior leaders of local social enterprises and
businesses now have a great opportunity to develop their leadership
and management skills.
Currently, around 13,000 social enterprises and small and medium
sized businesses look set to benefit from the match funded grant
being offered by the Leadership and Management Advisory Service, as
part of a drive to stimulate innovation and employment, boosting
the economy and creating a bigger, more cohesive society.
Stephen Smith continues, "As the lead organisation responsible
for delivering business improvement services right across Central
England, we hope that many social enterprises and businesses in the
local area will make the most of this exciting initiative."
The match funded grant of up to £1,000 is available to be
spent on leadership training and coaching to help organisations
grow, improve their productivity and competitiveness. The programme
also includes a free consultation with an expert Advisor before the
training commences, as well as free follow-up support to discuss
the impact of training and to identify any further skills
needs.
Stephen Smith concludes: "It is proven that effective leadership
can make the difference between survival and growth, and this fund
will give vital support to keen, forward-thinking local
entrepreneurs. We recognise that social enterprises are becoming an
increasingly valuable part of our economy and we are delighted to
offer this brand new package of support to help them grow."
The fund is promoted directly to local social enterprises and
businesses by the regional Leadership and Management Advisory
Service. For more information, call 0845 894 8969 or email
