next week
Investment, tax and income protection specialists will look at
the latest thinking on how family businesses can achieve the best
in financial planning and investment strategies at the first in a
new programme of events in Nottingham, hosted by The Wilson
Organisation.
The first 'Knowledge Network' on Thursday 26th May from 12 noon
at The Carriage Hall, Plumtree, brings together investment
solutions specialists Thomas Miller Investments, Granite Tax and
Unum to provide an insightful and timely economic overview and
explanation as to how economic considerations should and could
drive investments.
"This new programme of informative lunchtime seminars is
designed to keep family business leaders and owners bang up to date
with the key issues affecting them and their business," explains MD
of Wilsons Charlotte Prow.
"With the investment climate continually changing and investment
decisions in this climate in the least, challenging, we have drawn
together a panel of experts to focus on the latest thinking on
asset protection."
Investment Strategist with Thomas Miller Invesment, Abi
Oladimeji, a portfolio manager for numerous institutional clients,
macro-economic analyst and asset allocation researcher, will
explain why family businesses should look to the current economic
considerations and climate to drive their investment decisions for
future sustainability.
Principal of Granite Tax, James Bland, will look at tax planning
solutions that utilise the unique corporate structure of the family
business, and reliefs contained in tax legislation to ensure
effective tax planning strategy that keeps wealth within the
business and family.
Glenn Thompson of Unum, one of the UK's leading financial
protection insurers, will explain how to protect the family
business and employees, whilst balancing the moral obligation and
paternalistic mindset towards staff, against the cost implications
of employee benefits.
"All three companies involved in this first Knowledge Network
Lunch are businesses we have worked alongside for many years," adds
Charlotte, "and know that each has an excellent understanding of
the operational considerations that are in many ways particular to
a family run or owned business. This free event will provide an
excellent forum for lunchtime learning that is a valuable use of
that most precious commodity, time, by providing some practical and
highly relevant guidance on how to protect a business' assets, and
the opportunity to network with other family businesses."
