Sileby-based communications agency The Phoenix Partners recently
ran a workshop at De Montfort University for young entrepreneurs in
association with Enterprise Inc, on the subject of 'Working With
and Understanding the Media'.
The attendees have all been receiving business support through a
project called Enterprise Inc which helps current students and
recent graduates start up in business. The £3 million project
involves all nine of the regions Universities and is managed by
EMIN (East Midlands Incubation Network), the not-for-profit
business support organisation run on behalf of the universities of
De Montfort, Leicester, Derby, Lincoln, Northampton and Nottingham
Trent.
It was an interactive and fun session full of tips and secrets
including how to spot opportunities and utilise photography to help
bring their businesses into the media spotlight. Attendees
had the opportunity to network outside their own universities and
share their experiences as young entrepreneurs.
Rachel Hargrave, managing director at The Phoenix Partners said:
"As a young agency with lots of young, up and coming talent we are
keen to support new business ideas and young entrepreneurs.
The workshop was an ideal way in which we could pass on some
of our knowledge as finding your way around the media can be a bit
of a maze to the uninitiated!"
The Phoenix Partners is happy to run similar workshops on behalf
of training organisations, colleges and enterprise organisations.
